about

It's no exaggeration to say that Kumarachi is one of the most exciting talents to break out of the Jungle/DnB scene in recent times. When he made the switch from producing dubstep he quickly attracted the attention of some high flying labels and with good reason. The Nottingham based badman takes his influences from many sources including LTJ Bukem, Roni Size and High Contrast, feeding them into a production style that is experimental, bass driven and blistering with oldskool flavour. Now, spring boarding off his monster track ‘Black Out’ from the recent ‘Ghetto Dubz Vol 1’ album, Kumarachi brings his distinct style to Ghetto Dub once more with this belter of a four track EP.

‘Babylon’ kicks off the proceeding with its thundering wormhole style bassline and an infectious vibe that reminds us of early Shy FX in curious kind of way. Title track 'Barcode' comes in hard on its heels, snapping with swagger and aggression, personified in the menacing robotic vocals and that seriously groovy bass-riff which somehow gives a nod to the ‘94 Jungle sound. 'Light Night' is a deep rolling, heads down jungle workout which displays the more soulful side to Kumarachi's nature with an enchanting R&B style vocal and a rolling reese bassline. and to put some icing on this seriously Phattening piece of cake, it's time to unleash the 'Ruffness'. NUFF SAID!!
